The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevenson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hope fails with a takedown attempt.
Hope takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Stevenson slaps away a takedown attempt from Hope, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Cedrick Stevenson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Terry Hope.

Hope takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Stevenson ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Stevenson throws a right and a left that Hope avoids nicely.
Stevenson is looking to wear down Hope with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

It looks like Terry Hope has been cut.
Hope shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Stevenson but Stevenson pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Hope drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hope working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Hope drops back looking for a leg! Stevenson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Stevenson manages to kick Hope off! Hope jumps back into Stevenson's guard.
Hope is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hope passes Stevenson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Hope is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Stevenson sees it coming and defends easily.

Hope is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Stevenson is just riding it out for now. Hope eventually gives up the hold.

That was a close round but I would say that Cedrick Stevenson will probably get the nod.
