Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vegard Solberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Baptista Fadda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Vegard Solberg has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Vegard Solberg seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nice takedown defense from Solberg. No joy for Fadda on that attempt.
Solberg dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Fadda. That did some damage!
Fadda shoots in looking for a takedown. Solberg tries to sprawl out of it but Fadda keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Solberg manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Solberg tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fadda paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Solberg feints and then cracks Fadda's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Fadda down.

Horrible takedown by Fadda or perhaps it was just good defense by Solberg which made him look bad.

Fadda's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

No luck for Fadda with that takedown attempt.
Baptista Fadda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Solberg is looking to clinch but Fadda is avoiding it.
Fadda closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Fadda working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fadda has hold of Solberg's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Solberg tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Fadda cranks the arm and Solberg screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Solberg, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Baptista Fadda!
