The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bruce throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
enabling Cruzado to counter with a crisp jab.
It looks like Mike Bruce has been cut.
Bruce throws a push kick but Cruzado slaps the foot to one side.
Nice defenses there by Cruzado.
Cruzado lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bruce throws a combination that misses
and Cruzado counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Bruce shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cruzado pinned against the cage. Cruzado gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Bruce is looking to clinch but Cruzado is avoiding it.
Bruce should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

That has opened up Mike Bruce's cut even more.
Mike Bruce seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bruce tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cruzado swivels and escapes.
Cruzado throws a right and a left that both miss.

Javier Cruzado has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Bruce.

and Cruzado counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cruzado will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Bruce misses with a double jab.
Bruce is trying desperately to land a takedown but Cruzado is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Bruce.
Bruce misses with a shot to the body
and Cruzado counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Cruzado is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Bruce throws a jab when Cruzado was well out of range.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Bruce has eaten all the pies!
Bruce misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Bruce closes the distance and clinches.
Bruce goes for a takedown attempt but Cruzado pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Cruzado circles away from the clinch attempt
and Cruzado counters with a three punch combo that has Bruce backing up. Bruce nods at Cruzado to acknowledge the strikes.
The cut above Mike Bruce's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
That's three minutes gone in the round.

and Cruzado counters with a stiff right hand.

Mike Bruce's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Bruce shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Cruzado sprawls well. Cruzado wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bruce gets slowly back to his feet.
Bruce takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Mike Bruce's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
