The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dos Santos misses with a wild combination.

Dos Santos fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Medrado sprawls well initially but Dos Santos persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Medrado is pressing down on Dos Santos's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dos Santos stands and throws Medrado's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Medrado wants to control but Dos Santos postures up.

Dos Santos is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Medrado has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Medrado defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Dos Santos's arms.
You can see the frustration on Medrado's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Dos Santos is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Medrado is defending well though. Dos Santos let's go of the attempt for now.

Dos Santos has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Medrado has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Dos Santos is cranking Medrado's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Medrado! He's tightened the choke and Medrado is tapping out!

Anderson Dos Santos decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
