The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Caesar drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Caesar throws an elbow that misses. Brookheimer uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Caesar's guard. Nice move by Brookheimer!
Brookheimer has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Caesar is proving hard to escape from.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brookheimer must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Caesar pulls Brookheimer in to control the position.
Caesar wants to sweep but no luck.
Brookheimer wants to get up but he can't break Caesar's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Caesar bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Brookheimer's guard.

Caesar passes Brookheimer's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Brookheimer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Caesar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Caesar seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Brookheimer does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
