The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blake moves away from the strike by Van Der Sluijs.
Van Der Sluijs thuds his right hand into Blake's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

It looks like Ethan Blake has been cut.
Van Der Sluijs swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Blake's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Van Der Sluijs connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Blake scrambles back to his feet.

Blake sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Van Der Sluijs's guard.

Blake is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Van Der Sluijs doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Blake.

Blake has gone for a leg lock! Van Der Sluijs slips out almost immediately though and dives into Blake's guard.

Blake is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Ethan Blake.
Blake takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Van Der Sluijs lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Whack! Van Der Sluijs lands a heavy head kick that drops Blake. The ref tackles Van Der Sluijs to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Blake was done.
