PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Skull Crash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cu IV (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Cu IV was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 1, fighting out of New York, Skull Crash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cu IV!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, David Schapiro and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crash lands with a nice body punch.
Crash throws a sloppy head kick and IV moves out of range easily.
Skull Crash seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Crash connects with a body shot.
IV checks a leg kick.
IV misses with a jab, cross combination.
Crash turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Crash lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
IV misses with a two punch combination.
IV shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Crash as he avoids it easily.
Crash misses with a body shot.
Crash tries to land a leg kick but IV saw it coming and moves away.
Good leg kick by Crash there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Crash throws a low kick but IV moves out of range easily.
Crash ducks down and throws a hook to the body but IV moves away.
Crash fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and IV has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Skull Crash is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Crash makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. IV really felt that one!

IV's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

IV needs to keep his hands up - Crash had a free shot at his head there.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from IV.

IV looks to throw the jab but Crash is out of range.
Crash misses with a wild body shot.
Crash keeps the fight on the outside.
A good leg kick by Crash.
Crash scores with a one two! IV had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Crash is looking to wear down IV with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but IV might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Crash has got the better of the exchanges.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close second round but I would say that Skull Crash will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

and IV connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Crash lands a leg kick that knocks IV off balance momentarily.

and Crash counters with a head kick. That will keep IV thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Skull Crash has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cu IV.

IV sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
IV takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Crash changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
IV seems to have recovered his senses.
Crash stuns IV with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Crash throws a head kick but IV moves out of range.

Cu IV has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Crash punishes IV's body with a nice straight punch.

IV has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Crash finds it's way round the side to connect with IV's head.

Skull Crash is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

and IV counters with a three punch combo that has Crash backing up. Crash nods at IV to acknowledge the strikes.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Crash digs a good body shot into IV's ribs.

And that's the end of the fight!
Skull Crash showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Crash, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
