PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mike Hardin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Mcintosh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hardin has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardin shoots for a takedown but Mcintosh saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Hardin is breathing heavily.

Hardin gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mcintosh to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Mcintosh is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Hardin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

and Mcintosh counters by moving into the clinch.

Mcintosh has Hardin pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Mcintosh pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Hardin tumbling to the mat - Mcintosh dives into Hardin's guard.

Mcintosh decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hardin, up you get!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Mcintosh turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Mcintosh manages to end up in side control.

Mcintosh decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hardin to his feet.

Mcintosh bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Mcintosh lands a nice looking body shot.

Mcintosh has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Mcintosh is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Mcintosh lands a nice knee to the body.

Mcintosh wants the takedown. Hardin is fighting it off but Mcintosh persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Hardin's guard against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hardin working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Mcintosh.
Hardin will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Mcintosh seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mcintosh is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Hardin's shoulder. That is not cool.

Mcintosh shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Mcintosh lands a nice short elbow.

Mcintosh has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hardin takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Mcintosh swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Hardin is now in Mcintosh's guard. A big mistake from Mcintosh there, giving up the dominant position!

Mcintosh pushes a forearm under Hardin's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Hardin is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
