Soprano is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Got Yourself a Gun . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cruz throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Cruz throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Soprano was covering up waiting for the punch and Cruz finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Soprano is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Cruz drops back looking for a leg! Soprano is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Soprano manages to kick Cruz off! Cruz jumps back into Soprano's guard.

Soprano has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Soprano's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Tony Soprano.
Cruz looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Soprano fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Cruz looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Cruz crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Soprano - the referee stops the clock and Cruz gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Soprano. Cruz manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Cruz pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Cruz tries to move into range but Soprano moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Cruz lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Cruz blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Cruz swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Cruz wants a takedown but no success here.
Soprano gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Cruz.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Soprano swings wildly with an uppercut but Cruz uses good head movement to avoid it.
Soprano misses with some punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Soprano tries to score with a low kick but Cruz moves his leg out of the way.

and Cruz counters with a series of strikes. Soprano will be more careful next time no doubt.
Cruz throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Soprano stuffs the takedown attempt from Cruz. Cruz gets slowly back to his feet.

Cruz moves in looking to clinch but Soprano pushes him off.
Benedict Cruz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Cruz shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Soprano but Soprano pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Cruz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Soprano's waist but Soprano gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cruz off to one side.

Cruz moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Cruz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Soprano sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cruz somewhat.

Cruz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Soprano circles away quickly and effectively.

Soprano moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Soprano connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Cruz is rocked!
A head kick by Soprano - that's a beauty! Cruz is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Soprano can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
