Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Riku Noitalahti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr Ripley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ripley has chosen The Talented Mr. Ripley - Tu Vuo' Fa l'Americano as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Noitalahti misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ripley tries for a takedown but Noitalahti circles away easily
and Noitalahti connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Ripley looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Some bone on bone action there as Noitalahti checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

and Noitalahti counters with a one-two to the body.

Ripley takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Noitalahti slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ripley.
Noitalahti throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ripley stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Ripley drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Ripley is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Noitalahti is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Noitalahti tries to escape but Ripley is in control.
Ripley goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Noitalahti has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Ripley but great work by Noitalahti.

Noitalahti decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Noitalahti circles away from the clinch attempt
and Noitalahti counters with a big head kick but Ripley shrugs it off.
Noitalahti jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Ripley avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Ripley misses with a looping right.
Ripley ducks right into an uppercut from Noitalahti.

Ripley tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Noitalahti manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ripley shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Noitalahti pinned against the cage. Noitalahti gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Riku Noitalahti has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mr Ripley.

Ripley tries to bum rush Noitalahti with a series of wild strikes but Noitalahti uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Noitalahti is looking to land body kicks.
Ripley is looking to chop away at Noitalahti's legs.
Noitalahti misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nice straight punches there by Ripley. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Ripley.
Noitalahti jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Noitalahti throws a body kick that misses.
Ripley scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Ripley throws a solid leg kick but Noitalahti takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Ripley.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Ripley looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Ripley looks to land a combination but Noitalahti avoids it well.

Noitalahti lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Noitalahti.
Crunch! Noitalahti slams his shin into Ripley's torso.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ripley moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Noitalahti tries to bum rush Ripley with a series of wild strikes but Ripley uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ripley changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Noitalahti tries to avoid it but Ripley manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Noitalahti to the ground. Noitalahti escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ripley misses with a low kick as Noitalahti jumps back.
Ripley is breathing heavily.
Noitalahti scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Ripley doesn't seem bothered though.
Ripley on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Ripley lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Noitalahti circles away quickly and effectively.

Ripley takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Noitalahti is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ripley can do to turn this around?
Noitalahti sends Ripley crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Noitalahti is motioning to the referee to let Ripley up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Noitalahti fakes the body blow, causing Ripley to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Ripley goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
