Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nick Frye!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kyle Baker!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baker fails with a takedown attempt.
Baker fails with an attempt to clinch.
Baker tries to close the distance and clinch up but Frye swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Frye misses with a few strikes there.
Frye shoots in but Baker avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Frye shoots in for a takedown but Baker shows good takedown defense.
Baker displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Frye.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick Frye. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Frye moves in looking to clinch but Baker pushes him off.

Baker gets caught napping as Frye dives in and scores a takedown. Baker manages to retain guard.

Baker utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Frye pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Baker is keeping the position for now.

Frye really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Frye is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Nick Frye wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Frye throws a series of punches but Baker avoids them all with ease.

Frye closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Frye decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Baker comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Baker looks winded!
Frye doesn't manage to clinch there - Baker circles away.
Frye changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Baker tries to avoid it but Frye manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Baker to the ground. Baker escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Baker looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Frye is fending him off so far but Baker persists. Nope, Frye circles away and we're back to standing.

Frye closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Frye blocks the strikes from Baker.
Baker tries to roll over but Frye keeps him under control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Frye tries to pass the half guard into mount. Baker knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Baker tries to get to full guard but Frye has control of the leg.
Frye not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Frye winds up and cracks Baker with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Frye seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Baker does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Frye decides to return to a standing position.
Frye fails with a takedown attempt.

Frye shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Frye trying to control the position from guard on top but Baker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Baker gets caught napping as Frye dives in and scores a takedown. Baker manages to retain guard.
Frye wants to pass the guard but Baker is keeping the position.

Baker is working an open guard so Frye takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Frye throws a head kick that misses.
Nick Frye is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Baker.
Baker tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Frye paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Baker circles away from the clinch attempt.
Baker is breathing heavily.
Frye throws a right hand that Baker ducks under and follows up with a left that Baker also avoids with ease.
Baker chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Frye can pounce on him.

Baker clinches up with Frye and pushes him back against the cage.
Frye tries for a takedown. No joy.

Frye lands a takedown into guard.

Frye gets to his feet - Baker follows without any prompting.
Frye takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
A head kick misses from Frye.
A combination from Frye does no damage.
Baker throws a head kick but Frye moves out of range.
Baker looks to land a combination but Frye avoids it well.

Frye manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Baker on his heels. He'll look to pass Baker's guard now, I'm sure.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Baker is looking for a triangle but Frye pushes his legs off easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Frye avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Frye drops back, looking for a kneebar! Baker looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Baker looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Baker!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Frye looks to move to half guard but instead Baker has passed into mount! Damn!
Frye wants to hold on but Baker pushes him away.
Nick Frye overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Baker working for a guillotine from mount but Frye is in no mood to give up.
Frye swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Frye is wriggling around trying to escape.
Frye tries to lock up and control but Baker gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Frye is looking to get to half guard.
Baker trying to control but Frye is having none of it.
Frye regains half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Frye is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nick Frye dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Frye gets a double leg takedown into Baker's guard.
Frye slips nicely into half guard.
Frye slows the pace down in half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Frye connects with a nice short shot to Baker's temple.
Baker makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Baker.
Baker takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Frye forces his way into half guard.

Frye trying to mount his opponent but Baker defends it.
Frye is keen to just control but Baker is a slippery customer.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Frye lands a nice short elbow.

Baker looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Frye scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Baker has hold of Frye's hands but Frye slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Frye controlling the pace.
Frye wants to free his trapped foot but Baker is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Frye takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Frye lands with a punch from half guard.
Frye trying to control the pace.
Frye wants to control but Baker is keeping him busy.
Baker is looking for a sweep. Frye is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Frye scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Frye is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Frye is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Baker has managed to free his arm - good work.

Baker wants to get back to full guard.
Frye not doing much here.
Frye trying to control the action but Baker is working from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Baker on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

And that's the end of the fight!
Nick Frye showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Frye, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
