Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Phillip French (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Tessaro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Felipe Paraventi and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Tessaro looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Tessaro takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Tessaro shoots in looking for a takedown. French tries to sprawl out of it but Tessaro keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. French manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
French shoots and misses
and Tessaro counters with a head kick. That will keep French thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Phillip French.
I think French has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
