The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simsimeon doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Wallace counters with a head kick that drops Simsimeon to the mat! Simsimeon scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

Wallace tries a head kick but it misses.
Oh Simsimeon is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Simsimeon throws a head kick that half lands.
Sammy Simsimeon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wallace swats away the attempt to clinch by Simsimeon.

Wallace is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Simsimeon can't fight it off and eventually Wallace manages to take the fight to the floor. Simsimeon looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
