PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sean McNamara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tiberio Celentano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think McNamara might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Massive Attack - Teardrop (House M.D.). Celentano is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Now's My Time by D.J.I.G.. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Tiberio Celentano enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 27 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sean McNamara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tiberio Celentano!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McNamara takes one to the side of the head.
McNamara shoots in looking for a takedown. Celentano tries to sprawl out of it but McNamara keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Celentano manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Celentano misses with a looping right.
Good standup being displayed there by Celentano as he connects with a hook.
Celentano stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Celentano wants it to stay on the feet.
McNamara looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McNamara misses with a double jab
and Celentano connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A punch combination from Celentano misses.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Celentano tries to sprawl but McNamara drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Celentano moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
McNamara stays in close to Celentano's body and controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Celentano wants to sweep but no luck.
Celentano not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McNamara slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Celentano wants to stand and escape but McNamara is having none of it.

We're going to have a standup here because Sean McNamara wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
McNamara shoots for a double leg takedown but Celentano sprawls well. He's pushed McNamara's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sean McNamara. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McNamara steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Celentano.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Celentano, as that shot connected.
McNamara on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
McNamara throws a right hand that Celentano ducks under and follows up with a left that Celentano also avoids with ease.
A lazy body kick from Celentano
enabling McNamara to counter with a crisp jab.
Celentano swats away the attempt to clinch by McNamara.
McNamara has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Celentano finds it's way round the side to connect with McNamara's head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A jab from Celentano misses.
McNamara misses with an uppercut. Celentano saw that one coming.
Tiberio Celentano is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
McNamara walks into a left hand.
McNamara drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
McNamara staying out of range there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Celentano lands a left and a right that send McNamara crashing to the mat, dazed. Celentano thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


McNamara is rocked!


It looks like Sean McNamara has been cut.
McNamara tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Celentano swivels and escapes.
Oh McNamara is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Celentano is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! McNamara had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Celentano moves in close and cracks McNamara with a massive right hand! McNamara, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Celentano!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tiberio Celentano!
Our winner, Tiberio Celentano, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
