Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Matsuo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and The Nightmare (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jay Matsuo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, The Nightmare!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Emerson Jorge and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nightmare avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nightmare tries to land a leg kick but Matsuo saw it coming and moves away.
Nightmare scoring well with a low kick there.
Left hook, right uppercut from Nightmare.
Nightmare lands a front kick.
Nightmare attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Nightmare lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Nightmare sizes up Matsuo with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Nightmare misses with a head kick.
A punch combination from Matsuo misses.
Matsuo takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Matsuo shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Nightmare is not content to let Matsuo control the position.
Nightmare wants to get back to his feet.

Matsuo perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Nightmare is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Matsuo's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Matsuo's back!
Nightmare has the hooks in. Matsuo is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Matsuo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Nightmare is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Matsuo knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Matsuo for a finish.

Nightmare wants to control the position but Matsuo says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nightmare tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Matsuo has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Nightmare is desperately trying to improve his position but Matsuo has a good base and remains in mount.
Matsuo lands a big shot there that rocks Nightmare but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Matsuo sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Nightmare is squirming around, avoiding Matsuo's attempts to control the action.

Matsuo is standing up, even though he is in mount.
The Nightmare is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Matsuo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nightmare's waist but Nightmare gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Matsuo off to one side.
A left and a right from Nightmare both land. Nice combination.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nightmare misses with the body kick
and Matsuo counters with a one-two to the body.
Nightmare throws a leg kick but Matsuo checks it.
Nightmare tries to score with a low kick but Matsuo moves his leg out of the way.
Nightmare throws a front kick that sends Matsuo stumbling back into the cage.
A solid leg kick lands there for Nightmare.
Nightmare jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A bone on bone clash there as Matsuo blocks the leg kick.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Matsuo shoots in looking for a takedown. Nightmare tries to sprawl out of it but Matsuo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nightmare manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Nightmare scores with a nice body kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The Nightmare dominated that round.

Matsuo closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Nightmare's guard.
Nightmare is trying to hold Matsuo in close to prevent damage but Matsuo has managed to pass into half guard.
Matsuo thows a huge punch but Nightmare dodges it nicely.
Matsuo is keen to just control but Nightmare is a slippery customer.
Matsuo performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Matsuo is trying to control the action in half guard but Nightmare is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Jay Matsuo has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Nightmare lands a nice leg kick that just misses Matsuo's sensitive parts.
Nightmare throws a leg kick which misses Matsuo's front leg but catches the back leg as Matsuo tries to avoid it.
Nightmare defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Matsuo.
Nightmare stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Nightmare wants it to stay on the feet.
Jay Matsuo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Nightmare lands a head kick. Matsuo smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Nightmare cracks Matsuo with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Matsuo manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Nightmare on his heels. He'll look to pass Nightmare's guard now, I'm sure.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Matsuo looking to sit in guard and control but Nightmare gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Nightmare is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Nightmare tries to free his leg and advance position but Matsuo is retaining full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jay Matsuo just wasn't active enough.
Nightmare turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Matsuo on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Matsuo is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Good leg kick by Nightmare there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Matsuo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nightmare is fending him off so far but Matsuo persists. Nope, Nightmare circles away and we're back to standing.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Matsuo chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Nightmare can pounce on him.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A head punch on the inside from Nightmare fails to land.

Matsuo pulls guard successfully.
Nightmare looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Nightmare's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The Nightmare showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nightmare avoids a series of strikes thrown by Matsuo.

Jay Matsuo showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Nightmare has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
