Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ken Bates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Germain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bates shoots in looking for a takedown. Germain tries to sprawl out of it but Bates keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Germain manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Bates shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Germain is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Bates is trying to control the action in half guard but Germain is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Germain wants to get back to his feet.

Germain is looking for a sweep. Bates is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Bates seems to be working for a kimura but Germain defends the submission attempt.

Bates thows a huge punch but Germain dodges it nicely.

Germain has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Bates escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Bates!

Bates has isolated one of Germain's arms. Germain looking to fight him off but Bates twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!

Ken Bates opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
