PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Colin Burton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ogg Nogg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burton comes into the arena with Trip Like I Do blaring out of the sound system. Nogg comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Pantera : 5 Minutes Alone kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ogg Nogg!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nogg throws a head kick but Burton moves out of range.
Nogg throws a hook to the side of Burton's head but Burton sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Burton fails in his attempt to clinch.
Burton checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Burton doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Burton tries to bum rush Nogg with a series of wild strikes but Nogg uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Burton misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Burton shoots in and drives through. Nogg sprawls well.
Nogg thows a body shot but no joy.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Nogg.
An inside leg kick lands from Nogg.
Burton shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nogg as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Colin Burton. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Burton will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Nogg throws a looping overhand right but Burton ducks down to avoid it.
Nogg lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Burton tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nogg paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Nogg throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Burton shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Nogg defends it nicely.

Burton shoots in looking for a takedown. Nogg tries to sprawl out of it but Burton keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nogg manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Burton tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Nogg avoids it.

Nogg has Burton pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Burton manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Burton pushes off an throws an elbow but Nogg leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Nogg swings wildly with an uppercut but Burton uses good head movement to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Burton.
Nogg moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Nogg pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Burton shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nogg but Nogg pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ogg Nogg seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Nogg misses with a body kick.
Nogg throws a nice looking combination but Burton bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Nogg throws a head kick that misses.
Burton misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Burton bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Nogg's head backwards.
A nice combination there by Burton.

Nogg is rocked!
Burton circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Nogg drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Burton follows Nogg to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
