The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendes scores with a three punch combo!
Lee scoring well with a low kick there.
Mendes showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lee.
Lee fails with the takedown
and Mendes counters with a nice body shot.
Lee feints and then cracks Mendes's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Mendes down.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Lee.

Nice takedown defense from Mendes. No joy for Lee on that attempt.

Lee tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Lee is breathing heavily.

Lee doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Lee looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Lee pivots, looking for a leg kick but Mendes is out of range and Lee settles back down.
Mendes misses with an uppercut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mendes displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lee throws out the jab.
Mendes throws a hook but Lee blocks it.
Lee throws a nice outside leg kick.
Mendes connects with a looping right hand.
Lee takes one to the chin there.
Mendes avoids the head kick by Lee.

Mendes throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Lee tries for a takedown but Mendes circles away easily
enabling Mendes to counter with a crisp jab.

Lee walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Lee tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Mendes jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Mendes looks to land a combination. Lee sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Mendes scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Oh Lee is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lee shoots for a takedown but Mendes saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Lee seems to have got his legs back now.

Mendes fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Lee on the side of the head.
Lee closes the distance and clinches up with Mendes, looking for a takedown. Lee pushes Mendes against the cage but Mendes circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Lee throws a shot from downtown. Mendes moves away and avoids it.
Lee wants to clinch up but Mendes keeps it at a distance.
Mendes lands a nice shot to the body.
Lee pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mendes keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Lee.
Lee shoots in for a takedown but Mendes shows good takedown defense.
Mendes takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Some wild striking there from Mendes.
Mendes swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mendes is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Lee had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

and Mendes counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Lee misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lee throws a shot from downtown. Mendes moves away and avoids it.

Lee tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mendes lands a head shot.
Mendes misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Lee misses with a straight left.
Lee will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Jake Mendes is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Mendes lands a left and a right that send Lee crashing to the mat, dazed. Mendes thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Lee. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Lee throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mendes fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Lee throws a nice looking combination but Mendes bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Mendes thuds a left hand into Lee's body.
Mendes scores with a nice strike.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mendes throws a shot from downtown. Lee moves away and avoids it.
Mendes Rushes Lee and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Lee is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Mendes Piles on the pressure and Lee crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
