Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kano Nagasawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Ehrenholm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kano Nagasawa has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kano Nagasawa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marcus Ehrenholm!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nagasawa looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Ehrenholm tries to roll over but Nagasawa keeps him under control.
Nagasawa trying to control from half guard but Ehrenholm is working away.
Ehrenholm is positioning himself well to prevent Nagasawa advancing to mount.

Nagasawa seems to be working for a kimura but Ehrenholm defends the submission attempt.
Nagasawa seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ehrenholm does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Ehrenholm is defending against the submission attempts here by Nagasawa.
Ehrenholm is looking for a sweep. Nagasawa is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Nagasawa really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Ehrenholm is holding on to half guard well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nagasawa wants to take a breather but Ehrenholm is having none of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Kano Nagasawa just wasn't active enough.

and Ehrenholm counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Ehrenholm stops Nagasawa from getting back to his feet.
Still in half guard, Ehrenholm seems content to control.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Marcus Ehrenholm wasn't active enough on the ground.
Nagasawa misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Ehrenholm is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Nagasawa is just riding it out for now. Ehrenholm eventually gives up the hold.
Ehrenholm is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Nagasawa regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Ehrenholm.
Nagasawa is looking to stand up but Ehrenholm isn't so interested in that idea.
Ehrenholm throws a big right hand that misses.
Ehrenholm with a flurry of punches that miss.

Ehrenholm controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Nagasawa wants to stand and escape but Ehrenholm is having none of it.
Ehrenholm not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Marcus Ehrenholm was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Ehrenholm gets a clinch.
Nagasawa wants to break free but Ehrenholm has control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marcus Ehrenholm dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Nagasawa connects with a solid leg kick.

Ehrenholm dives in and scores a takedown into Nagasawa's guard.
Nagasawa wants to stand up but Ehrenholm is controlling him.
Ehrenholm tries to free his leg and advance position but Nagasawa is retaining full guard.
Ehrenholm slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Ehrenholm wants to stand but Nagasawa is controlling his posture from full guard.

Marcus Ehrenholm has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Nagasawa throws a one two combo.
Nagasawa shoots in but Ehrenholm avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Ehrenholm tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nagasawa swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Nagasawa is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Ehrenholm asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Nagasawa takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
You can see the frustration on Nagasawa's face as Ehrenholm controls the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ehrenholm tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Nagasawa wants to get back to his feet but Ehrenholm drags him back down.
Ehrenholm throws a strike aimed at the side of Nagasawa's head but Nagasawa avoids it well.
Nagasawa is trying to buck Ehrenholm off.

Ehrenholm is trying to get an arm triangle but Nagasawa is defending well.
Nagasawa is pushing Ehrenholm's head away, looking to escape. Ehrenholm manages to hold on to the position though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ehrenholm tries to move to mount but Nagasawa blocks the move with his legs.
Nagasawa is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Ehrenholm is controlling him well.

Ehrenholm decides to stand up, so the ref orders Nagasawa to his feet.

Ehrenholm closes the distance and pushes Nagasawa back into the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Nagasawa jumps guard but Ehrenholm turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kano Nagasawa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nagasawa wants to break the clinch but can't.

Ehrenholm breaks from the clinch.
No luck for Nagasawa with that takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marcus Ehrenholm showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Nagasawa's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

and Ehrenholm counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Ehrenholm.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Marcus Ehrenholm.
Nagasawa turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Ehrenholm throws a sloppy head kick and Nagasawa moves out of range easily.
Kano Nagasawa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nagasawa feints and then cracks Ehrenholm's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Ehrenholm down.

Marcus Ehrenholm is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Ehrenholm shoots in and bounces Nagasawa off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Marcus Ehrenholm comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
