Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Piru Parka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pes Barbos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Parka comes to the cage accompanied by . Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Piru Parka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pes Barbos!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barbos avoids the head kick by Parka.
Barbos works Parka's body with a nice hook.
A head kick misses from Parka.
Barbos moves in looking to clinch but Parka pushes him off.
Parka keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Barbos.
Parka tries a head kick but it misses.
Piru Parka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Barbos swinging wildly here.

Barbos scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Parka wants to get back to full guard.
Barbos is taking a breather. Parka says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Parka wants to control but Barbos is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Parka is looking for a sweep. Barbos is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Barbos is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Barbos slows the pace down in half guard.
Parka tries to get to full guard but Barbos has control of the leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Parka closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Barbos to the mat! Barbos manages to get full guard.

Parka stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Barbos swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Parka is working hard here to advance position.
Parka trying to control the position from guard on top but Barbos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Parka throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Barbos works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Parka loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Barbos is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Barbos is trying to control the position but Parka postures up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Barbos stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Barbos wants it to stay on the feet.

Barbos has closed the distance and engaged Parka in a clinch.
Barbos drops down looking for an ankle pick but Parka pulls his leg out and moves away.
Nice takedown defense from Barbos. No joy for Parka on that attempt.
Parka misses with a series of wild punches.
Horrible takedown by Parka or perhaps it was just good defense by Barbos which made him look bad.

Barbos closes the distance and pushes Parka back into the cage.

Sloppy strikes from Parka. Those never looked like landing.

Barbos gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Parka to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Parka throws a big elbow that misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Barbos trying to keep a closed guard but Parka is proving a slippery customer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Pes Barbos will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Parka throws a head kick that misses.
Barbos misses the jab.
Barbos throws a series of punches but Parka avoids them all with ease.
Barbos stalks Parka and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Parka's face. Parka staggers backwards, shaken.
Barbos scores with a hook.
Barbos scores with a crisp jab that stopped Parka in his tracks.

Barbos has managed to clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Barbos tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Parka just stands there and leans against the cage.

Barbos pulls guard successfully.
Barbos looking to hit a scissor sweep but Parka is one step ahead there.
Parka will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Barbos is pulling down on Parka's head. It's preventing any offense from Parka, at least for the moment.

Parka wants to control from the top but Barbos keeps moving.
Parka throws an elbow that misses. Barbos uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Parka's guard. Nice move by Barbos!

Parka looking for subs off his back but Barbos has passed one foot through into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barbos wants to take a breather but Parka is having none of it.

Barbos moves into full mount! Parka won't be happy about that!
Parka holds on for dear life, controlling Barbos's posture momentarily.
Parka is wriggling around trying to escape.
Parka tries to lock up and control but Barbos gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Barbos can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Parka is looking to escape.
Piru Parka overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Parka is looking to improve his position but Barbos isn't that keen on the idea.

Barbos looking to control but Parka is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Parka wants to hold on but Barbos pushes him away.
Barbos tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.

Barbos get's back to his feet.

Barbos tries to sprawl but Parka drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Barbos is looking to control Parka's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Barbos avoid being mounted?

Parka is working for a submission of some sort.

Parka looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Parka is taking a breather. Barbos says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pes Barbos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Parka is keen to just control but Barbos is a slippery customer.

Barbos has hold of Parka's hands but Parka slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Barbos gets full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Barbos is looking to sweep but instead, Parka has passed into half guard.

Parka is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Barbos has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Parka is working away from the top position though.
Parka not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Barbos trying to control from the bottom.
Parka is looking to stall here but Barbos recovers full guard.

Parka stops Barbos from standing up.
Parka with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Parka controlling from the top position.

Parka wants to lay and pray for a moment but Barbos keeps working.

Parka goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Barbos rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Parka's guard! Nice work there by Barbos!

No joy there for Barbos, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Parka gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Barbos counters with a stiff right hand.
Nice sprawl there from Barbos as Parka shoots in.

Piru Parka showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Barbos has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
