Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dyl Tay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adams's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Slither. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tay has taken the fight to the clinch.
Adams has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
A frustrated look appears on Adams's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Tay escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Tay is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Adams tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Tay misses with a double jab.
Tay misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tay shoots for a double leg takedown but Adams sprawls well. He's pushed Tay's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Dyl Tay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tay misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Adams stalks Tay and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Tay's face. Tay staggers backwards, shaken.
Tay throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Adams misses with a head kick.
Tay avoids the head kick by Adams.

Adams throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Tay showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Adams.

Tay pushes Adams up against the cage in a clinch.

Tay breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Adams rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Tay moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Tay shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Adams but Adams pushes him off and we're back to square one.
John Adams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dyl Tay.
Tay misses with a takedown attempt - Adams sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Adams lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tay circles away quickly and effectively.

Adams displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tay.

Some wild striking there from Adams.
Tay gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Adams counters with a two punch combo.
Adams lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tay circles away quickly and effectively.
Tay is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Tay tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Adams manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Tay tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Adams swivels and escapes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Adams swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Tay fails to land the takedown.
Tay swats away the attempt to clinch by Adams.
Adams is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Tay.
Nice sprawl there from Adams as Tay shoots in.
Tay keeps Adams at a distance using the push kick.
Adams connects with a good right hand that stumbles Tay. Tay circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Tay is breathing heavily.
Tay fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Adams instigates a clinch.
Tay keeps control of Adams as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Tay tries to pull guard but Adams forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Adams's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Tay shoots in and drives through. Adams sprawls well.
Adams misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tay is looking to clinch.
Tay blocks a head kick by Adams.
Sloppy strikes from Adams. Those never looked like landing.
Tay looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and Tay counters with a low kick, right behind Adams 's knee.
Adams throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Tay fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Adams misses with a few strikes there.
Tay tries to clinch
and Adams counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Tay keeps the fight on the outside.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tay closes this distance looking for a takedown but Adams circles away.
Adams lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Adams clinches.
Adams wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Tay has him pressed against the cage.
Adams wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Adams wants to break free but Tay has control.
Adams can't break the clinch.
Adams has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Adams is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Tay gets through Adams's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Tay gets control of Adams's arms and successfully pulls guard. Tay will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Adams wants to pass the guard but Tay is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tay throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Tay preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Tay scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Adams lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tay circles away quickly and effectively.
Sloppy strikes from Adams. Those never looked like landing.
Tay looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Adams misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tay with a poor takedown
and Adams counters with a three punch combo that has Tay backing up. Tay nods at Adams to acknowledge the strikes.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Adams throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Adams dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Tay shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Adams counters with a shoot takedown. Tay fights it but they end up in guard.
Adams landing with the ground and pound.
Adams postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Adams throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Adams got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tay has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Adams has managed to get both his arms back between Tay's legs - danger averted.
Adams wanted to stand there but Tay had control of the position.
Tay takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Tay has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Adams can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Adams accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Adams tries to free his leg and advance position but Tay is retaining full guard.
Adams throwing strikes from guard but Tay blocks nicely.
Adams stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tay swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Adams wants to stand but Tay has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Adams postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Adams throws a big right hand that misses.
Tay looking to control.
Tay is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Dyl Tay wasn't active enough on the ground.
Tay swats away the attempt to clinch by Adams.
Tay fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Some bone on bone action there as Tay checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Adams closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Tay manages to break the clinch.

Tay moves in looking to clinch but Adams pushes him off.
Adams throws a series of strikes that have Tay backpedaling.
John Adams is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Tay shoots in looking for a takedown. Adams tries to sprawl out of it but Tay keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Adams manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Adams counters with a left and a right that stings Tay.

John Adams is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Adams lands with a nice combination. Tay backs away looking to recover.

Well Adams has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
