Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Goon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stelios Xenos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stelios Xenos has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Johnny Goon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Stelios Xenos!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Josh West.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Xenos throws a head kick that misses.
Xenos lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Xenos scores with a shot to the body.
Goon fails with the takedown
and Xenos counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Goon doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Xenos counters with a head kick that drops Goon - he's looking to finish, following his stunned foe to the ground!

Goon is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Xenos is controlling the pace.
Goon is trying to control but can't.

Xenos trying to work for an americana but Goon has managed to regain full guard.

Xenos drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Xenos jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Xenos trying to control the position from guard on top but Goon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Xenos tries to free his leg and advance position but Goon is retaining full guard.

Goon has his foot on Xenos's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Xenos works his way back into a safe position though.

Xenos is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Goon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Xenos gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Xenos scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Goon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
enabling Xenos to counter with a crisp jab.

Goon shoots and misses

and Goon is countered with a crisp right hand from Xenos that sends him to the canvas! Xenos follows him to the mat into side control.
Oh Goon is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Xenos wants to control but Goon is keeping him busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Goon is trying to control Xenos's posture but Xenos avoids it.
Goon seems to have got his legs back now.
Xenos is looking to take a break and control but Goon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Goon tries to bench press Xenos off him but Xenos keeps the position.

Xenos working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Goon tries to buck Xenos off but Xenos is having none of it.
Goon gets back to half guard.

Xenos seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Goon tries to get to full guard but Xenos has control of the leg.
Xenos content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Goon doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Xenos counters with a flying knee that sends his opponent to the canvas! Xenos looking to finish!

Goon is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Goon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Goon wants to control but Xenos passes easily into half guard.
Goon is not content to let Xenos control the position.
Xenos is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Goon trying to hold on to Xenos's head to control him but Xenos postures up.
Goon is concentrating on defense, preventing Xenos from advancing position.

Xenos is pressing down on Goon's thigh, looking to free his foot. Goon is holding on for now.
Goon is looking to control Xenos's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Goon avoid being mounted?
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

We're going to have a standup here because Johnny Goon wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Goon walks straight into a right hand from Xenos - that's dropped him! Xenos jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Goon from any more punishment! Goon complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Stelios Xenos!
