Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chael Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jin Woo Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chael Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jin Woo Kim!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Russell Pearce and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick from Kim is predictable there

and Silva holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Kim is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Silva is trying to maintain a safe position but Kim gets an underhook and turns Silva into the cage.

Silva manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Kim stands up and waves to Silva to follow him.

Kim feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Silva is not content to let Kim control the position.

Kim is trying to work for a kimura but Silva is defending well.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kim wants to free his trapped foot but Silva is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Kim uses his free foot to push down on Silva's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Silva.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kim jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Silva manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Kim decides to stand back up.

Kim closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Silva's guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Silva working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kim doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kim manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Kim sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Silva's guard.

Silva is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kim pulls his head out easily.

Kim lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Silva is not content to let Kim control the position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Kim get's back to his feet.

Kim shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kim is stalling in the full guard.

Silva is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Kim postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Kim drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kim jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Kim content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jin Woo Kim dominated that round.
That's time! Silva's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Kim tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kim has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Kim stands up.

Kim stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Silva to get to his feet.
Kim throws a hook but Silva blocks it.

Kim drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Kim lands a couple of elbows.
Kim has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Silva is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kim defends well.
Kim controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Silva is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kim is aware though and is defending well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Silva is working an open guard so Kim takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Kim shoots in and bounces Silva off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kim throws the left hand but Silva avoids the punch easily.

Jin Woo Kim showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Kim connects with a couple of short punches.

Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kim can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Kim slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Kim's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Kim passes Silva's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Silva regains full guard. Nicely done.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kim stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silva swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Silva isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Kim stacks Silva on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Kim!

Kim is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Silva has escaped the position, nice work there.

Kim has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Silva!

Kim stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kim throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Silva tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kim is in Silva's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Kim got a little sloppy there for a moment and Silva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kim has managed to get both his arms back between Silva's legs - danger averted.
