Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nils Master!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joe Renald!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Aafke Stam and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Renald thows a body shot but no joy.

Master fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Renald, pushing him back against the cage.
Master lands an elbow that stopped Renald in his tracks for a moment.


It looks like Joe Renald has been cut.
Master lands an elbow inside.
Master is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Renald tries to pull guard but Master forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Renald pulls guard successfully.

Renald is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Renald has a closed guard, preventing Master from standing up.
Master has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Renald is looking for a triangle but Master pushes his legs off easily.
Master controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Master stops Renald from standing up.
Master tries to stand but Renald is controlling from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Renald can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Master controls the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Nils Master wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Master throws a good cross that connects.
Renald darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Good standup being displayed there by Master as he connects with a hook.
Master throws a body kick that misses.
Master digs a good body shot into Renald's ribs.
Renald wants to clinch
and Master counters with a nice leg kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Master takes the fight into the clinch.
Master lands an elbow inside that Renald shrugs off.

Renald pulls Master into guard.
Master is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Master working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Renald is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Renald is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Renald is controlling Master's posture.

Renald has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Master can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Master with a nice head shot there.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Master accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Renald had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Master defends it easily.
Renald is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Master postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Master seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Renald is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Master's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Renald keeping moving, preventing Master from controlling successfully.
Master missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Renald tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Renald looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Master slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Nils Master.
Renald shoots in looking for a takedown. Master tries to sprawl out of it but Renald keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Master manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nils Master dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Joe Renald's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Master lands an overhand right.
Renald tries to clinch but Master moves away
and Master counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Renald thinking.
Renald takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.


That has opened up Joe Renald's cut even more.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Master lets loose with a powerful body kick. Renald will feel that in the morning.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Master has cracked Renald with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Master lands another huge swinging hook and Renald tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Renald, before Master can land any more shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Nils Master!
Nils Master decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
