PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Henry Saari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DaMarcus Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that DaMarcus Johnson was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Henry Saari!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, DaMarcus Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Saari connects with the punch.
Saari comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Johnson throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.


It looks like Henry Saari has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Johnson keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Saari.
Saari just misses with a punch to the body.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Saari shows good takedown defense.
Johnson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Saari.
Saari throws a hook but Johnson blocks it.
Saari keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Johnson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Johnson drives through and clinches with Saari against the cage.

Johnson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Johnson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Saari avoids it really well and circles away.
Saari showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Johnson.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A decent looking cross lands there for Saari.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Saari but Saari pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Henry Saari has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of DaMarcus Johnson.
Saari takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Johnson takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Saari cracks Johnson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Saari pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Johnson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Saari.
Johnson takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Johnson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Johnson looks winded!
Good exchange - Saari coming out on top.
Saari could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Sloppy strikes from Johnson. Those never looked like landing.
Decent striking displayed by Saari there.


Johnson is rocked!
Saari drops Johnson with a straight right hand, right on the button! Saari follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Henry Saari!
