Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Lansing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Lansing might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Heavy Metal Kings. Adam Gracie is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Alexander Lansing!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 1, fighting out of New York, Adam Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie slips under a jab.
Lansing checks the leg kick nicely there.
Gracie on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Lansing throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Gracie to counter with a crisp jab.
Lansing looks to land a body kick but Gracie moved away.
Lansing throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Lansing throws a chopping leg kick but Gracie manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Gracie dives in and scores a takedown into Lansing's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Lansing is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gracie controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Gracie pushing down on Lansing's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Lansing desperately trying to maintain half guard.

Lansing is staying active underneath Gracie, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Lansing is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gracie lands a couple of elbows.

Lansing has his foot on Gracie's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gracie works his way back into a safe position though.

Gracie drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lansing manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gracie has Lansing in his guard.

Gracie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lansing gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Gracie manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lansing manages to get himself to full guard.

Gracie postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Gracie stands and throws Lansing's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Gracie tries to move into full mount but can't pass Lansing's legs.
Lansing wants to control but Gracie postures up.
Gracie throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Lansing is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Gracie throwing strikes but Lansing manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Lansing in side control, throwing shots but Gracie defends.
Gracie sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Lansing wants to control but Gracie is keeping him busy.
Lansing throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Lansing throws a strike but Gracie avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gracie looking for a sweep. Not yet Gracie, not yet.
Gracie wants to hit a switch here but Lansing passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Gracie there!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lansing lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Gracie hang on?

A close round but Adam Gracie will probably get the nod.
That's time! Lansing's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Lansing uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Gracie.
Lansing misses with a low kick.
Lansing misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gracie.
Lansing waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Gracie.
Lansing on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Gracie. Gracie obviously looking to wear him down.
Gracie shoots in for a double leg but Lansing sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Lansing throws a half hearted mid kick.
A big right from Lansing misses.
Gracie moves out of range of the body kick from Lansing.
Lansing throws a body kick that misses.
Gracie jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Lansing lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Gracie has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Gracie and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Lansing looks to land a right hand but Gracie moved out of range.
Lansing cracks Gracie with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Lansing throws a leg kick that is checked

and Gracie counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Lansing is trying to get back to full guard.

Gracie is looking for a kimura but Lansing is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gracie to get the leverage.
Gracie looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Lansing with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Gracie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lansing is just riding it out for now. Gracie eventually gives up the hold.
Lansing is not content to let Gracie control the position.

Gracie wants to free his trapped foot but Lansing is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Gracie seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lansing does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Lansing is trying to control but can't.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Gracie wants to work for an arm triangle but Lansing is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Gracie is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Lansing has managed to free his arm - good work.

A cross from Lansing lands.
Crunch! Lansing slams his shin into Gracie's torso.
Lansing misses with a lunging right hand
and Gracie counters with a nice body kick.
A telegraphed right hand from Gracie misses the target.
Lansing throws a leg kick that misses.
Gracie on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Gracie throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lansing was covering up waiting for the punch and Gracie finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Gracie postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Gracie wants to pass the guard but Lansing is keeping the position.
Gracie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Gracie throws a big elbow that misses.

Gracie drops back, looking for a kneebar! Lansing looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lansing looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lansing!

Gracie is looking for a sweep.
Lansing scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Gracie to see if he's OK.
Gracie can't do much from the bottom here.

Lansing wants to take a breather but Gracie is having none of it.

A close third round but Adam Gracie just about did enough to take it.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Lansing connects with a good right hand that stumbles Gracie. Gracie circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Gracie throws a jab but it's blocked by Lansing.
Gracie doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Gracie avoids the head kick by Lansing.
Lansing uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Gracie.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Gracie crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Lansing - the referee stops the clock and Gracie gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Lansing. Gracie manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

A nice leg kick lands there from Lansing.
Alexander Lansing is winning the standup battle so far.
Nice straight punches there by Lansing. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Lansing.
Lansing slaps away a takedown attempt from Gracie, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Gracie takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Lansing swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lansing throws a wild body kick that Gracie sees coming a mile off.

A chopping leg kick lands by Lansing.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lansing but Lansing pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Lansing.
Lansing takes a swing at Gracie's ribcage but misses.
Gracie slips a straight right by Lansing.
A clash of legs there as Gracie blocks the low kick.

Some bone on bone action there as Gracie checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Lansing throws a body punch but Gracie moves out of range.

Lansing tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gracie was well out of range. Poor timing from Lansing.
Lansing takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Gracie misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
