The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Escobar throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Escobar fails with the takedown.
Escobar keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Asher darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Escobar actively working from the bottom here.
Asher looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Escobar is controlling Asher's trapped leg to prevent Asher from advancing to side control.

Escobar is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Asher pulls his head out easily.

Asher takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Escobar throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Escobar wants to control but Asher is keeping busy.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Asher shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Asher is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Escobar reverses the position - he's now on top in Asher's guard.
Asher on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Asher tries to get out of the position.

Escobar passes Asher's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Escobar content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The fighters are battling for position here. Asher manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Escobar trying to control but Asher is working from the bottom.
Asher looking to hit a scissor sweep but Escobar is one step ahead there.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Asher wants to sweep but no luck.

Escobar is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Asher manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Escobar is wriggling around trying to escape.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Escobar sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Asher is breathing heavily.
Asher is looking to take a break and control but Escobar is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Escobar gets full guard.
Asher trying to control the position from guard on top but Escobar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Escobar not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Asher accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
