Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Freddie Sargent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Hall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Freddie Sargent has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Freddie Sargent!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dean Hall!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hall pushes Sargent up against the cage in a clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Hall - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Hall lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Hall fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Dean Hall.
Sargent changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hall tries to avoid it but Sargent manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hall to the ground. Hall escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Nice takedown defense from Hall. No joy for Sargent on that attempt.

Hall gets through Sargent's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Hall doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Hall throws a punch but it's blocked by Sargent.
Hall swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Sargent blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Hall swings wildly with an uppercut but Sargent uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hall misses with some punches.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hall scores with a nice hook to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dean Hall dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Hall moves in looking to clinch but Sargent pushes him off.
Sargent will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Sargent feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Sargent trying to control the position from guard on top but Hall is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Hall really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sargent. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sargent is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Sargent works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Sargent looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hall can do anything to dispel that myth.

Sargent is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hall is just riding it out for now. Sargent eventually gives up the hold.

Sargent is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Hall looks like he's trying to stand up.

Sargent is trying for a kimura here. Hall looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Sargent wins by kimura!

Freddie Sargent decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
