Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wayne Pearson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddy Hoop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pearson comes to the cage accompanied by tom petty - i won't back down. Wayne Pearson has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Roger Salmon and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pearson swings widly with a right hand
and Hoop counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Hoop pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Pearson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Pearson connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Pearson swats away the attempt to clinch by Hoop.
Hoop tries to clinch but Pearson is having none of it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hoop is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Oh Pearson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Hoop looks to land a left hand but Pearson moved out of range nicely.

Hoop closes the distance and pushes Pearson back into the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Hoop in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.
