PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Takehiko Rokuro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: "The Fight Song" by Marilyn Manson. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Takehiko Rokuro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jimmy Johnson!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rokuro throws a head kick but Johnson moves out of range.
Rokuro looks for a takedown but Johnson sprawls well.
Johnson tries to clinch there but Rokuro circles away.

Rokuro bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Rokuro tries to score with some ground and pound. Johnson controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Johnson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Rokuro is controlling him well.

Rokuro tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Rokuro is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Johnson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Johnson sneaks back into half guard.

Rokuro is working for a kimura but Johnson is defending it quite comfortably.

Rokuro seems to be looking for submissions.

Johnson is looking to control Rokuro's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Johnson avoid being mounted?

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rokuro is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Johnson is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Johnson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rokuro is looking to escape.

Rokuro sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Johnson's guard.

Rokuro is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Johnson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Rokuro.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Rokuro has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Johnson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Johnson tries to bum rush Rokuro with a series of wild strikes but Rokuro uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Rokuro postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
You can see the frustration on Johnson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Takehiko Rokuro showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rokuro, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
