Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Szymon Modry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Swanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Modry might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Behemoth "Lucifer". Ben Swanson has the eye of the tiger tonight.

The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Swanson, right into the meat.
Modry takes a swing at Swanson's ribcage but misses.
Modry throws the left hand but Swanson avoids the punch easily.
Swanson pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Swanson moves into range and clinches up with Modry.
Swanson tries for a takedown. No joy.

Swanson pulls Modry into guard.
Modry throws a big right hand that misses.

Modry decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
A right-left combo lands from Swanson.

Swanson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Swanson wants it to stay on the feet.
Swanson scores with a one two! Modry had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Modry drives through and clinches with Swanson against the cage.
Modry changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Swanson fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Modry really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Modry shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Swanson throws a nice looking combination but Modry bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Swanson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Swanson moves out of range as Modry strikes.
Swanson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Modry fails in his attempt to clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Swanson looks to land a body kick but Modry moved away.
Swanson feints and then cracks Modry's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Modry down.
Modry fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Swanson wants to clinch up but Modry keeps it at a distance.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Swanson cracks Modry with a right hand to the side of the head.
Modry swings and misses with a hook to the body.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Modry blocks a low kick nicely.

Modry is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Swanson's half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Swanson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Modry is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Swanson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Modry.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ben Swanson will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Modry is looking to clinch but Swanson is avoiding it.
Modry swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Modry fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Modry lands a leg kick that knocks Swanson off balance momentarily.

Modry moves out of range of the leg kick from Swanson.

Ben Swanson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Modry throws a good cross that connects.
Swanson shoots in for a takedown but Modry shows good takedown defense.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Swanson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Modry but Modry pushes him off and we're back to square one.
No joy there for Swanson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Swanson throws a body punch but Modry moves out of range.
Swanson is breathing heavily.
Both fighters circling a little - Modry finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Swanson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Modry.
Modry wants to clinch up but Swanson keeps it at a distance.

Swanson gets caught napping as Modry dives in and scores a takedown. Swanson manages to retain guard.

Swanson is working an open guard so Modry takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Swanson misses with a double jab.
Swanson dives in and grabs Modry's left leg, looking for a takedown. Modry pushes down on Swanson's head and hops out.
Szymon Modry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ben Swanson.
Modry tries to score a power double leg takedown but Swanson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Modry somewhat.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Modry.
Modry trying to control the action but Swanson is working from the bottom.
Modry will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Modry has hold of Swanson's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Swanson tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Modry cranks the arm and Swanson screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Swanson, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
