Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rhys Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donny Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Rhys Evans has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Donny Jones!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Donald Grub and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans connects with a nice looking jab.

Evans jumps guard and drags Jones to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Donny Jones hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Evans looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jones with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Evans is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jones is just riding it out for now. Evans eventually gives up the hold.

Evans is trying to work for a kimura but Jones is defending well.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Evans connects with a nice short shot to Jones's temple.

Evans is looking for a kimura but Jones is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Evans to get the leverage.

Evans is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Evans lands a big elbow - Jones is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Evans!
