The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rockzo fails in his attempt to clinch.
Ibn La Ahad looks to score with a jab to the body but Rockzo is just out of range.
Ibn La Ahad swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ibn La Ahad ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rockzo moves away.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Ibn La Ahad - that will leave a mark!
Rockzo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ibn La Ahad defends it nicely.

Rockzo takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Rockzo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ibn La Ahad's waist but Ibn La Ahad gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rockzo off to one side.
Rockzo misses with an uppercut. Ibn La Ahad saw that one coming.
Ibn La Ahad leaves Rockzo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Rockzo closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Rockzo wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ibn La Ahad, who protects the arm well.
Ibn La Ahad pushes Rockzo away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Rockzo gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Ibn La Ahad holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rockzo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ibn La Ahad keeps working.

Rockzo is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ibn La Ahad knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Ibn La Ahad is staying active underneath Rockzo, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rockzo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Ibn La Ahad really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rockzo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
