The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sampaio scores with a jab. Carvalho acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
A head kick from Sampaio lands but Carvalho takes it in his stride.

Sampaio feints and then cracks Carvalho's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Carvalho down.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Carvalho is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Sampaio lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Carvalho!
Carvalho tries to lock up and control but Sampaio gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Sampaio has hold of Carvalho's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Carvalho manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sampaio shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Carvalho eats them both and turns towards Sampaio to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Well Sampaio has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
