These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diehl swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Diehl looks to score with a jab to the body but Blackman is just out of range.
Diehl takes a swing at Blackman's ribcage but misses.
Diehl cracks Blackman with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

It looks like Frank Blackman has been cut.

and Blackman counters with a nice body kick.
Nice shot lands for Diehl.
Blackman looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Diehl is fending him off so far but Blackman persists. Nope, Diehl circles away and we're back to standing.
Diehl throws the left hand but Blackman avoids the punch easily.

Blackman gets tackled into the cage by Diehl. Diehl maintains the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Diehl breaks from the clinch.
Blackman avoids the head kick by Diehl.
Diehl keeps Blackman at a distance using the push kick.
Blackman throws a sloppy head kick and Diehl moves out of range easily.
Diehl bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

No joy there for Diehl, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Diehl throws a series of punches but Blackman avoids them all with ease.
Diehl has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Blackman.
Diehl tries to clinch but Blackman moves out of range.

Blackman moves into the clinch successfully.
Diehl lands a left hand that snaps the head of Blackman backwards.

Blackman decides to pull guard.
Diehl postures up in Blackman's guard and throws a big left but Blackman blocks it.
