Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ji Hyun Kim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Micheal Morton!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morton looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
An inside leg kick from Morton misses.
Kim avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Morton tries to keep at a distance but Kim has taken the fight into the clinch.
Morton keeps control of Kim as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Morton wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kim has him pressed against the cage.
Kim can't break the clinch.

Morton breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kim showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Morton.
Kim throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kim.
Some wild striking there from Morton.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Morton throws a head kick that misses.
Morton misses with a series of wild punches.
A combination from Morton does no damage.

Kim with a body punch. A glancing blow.

Kim clinches.
Kim wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Morton has him pressed against the cage.
Morton is trying to break free.
Morton has had enough of the clinch but Kim keeps him there for the moment.

Kim breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Morton thows a body shot but no joy.
Morton throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Morton stuffs the takedown.
Micheal Morton is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Morton keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Morton lands a right hook to the body.
Morton takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Morton fails to land with a series of punches.
Morton throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kim.
Morton misses with the combination.

Morton tries to keep at a distance but Kim has taken the fight into the clinch.

Kim can't break the clinch.
A body shot lands from Morton.
Kim wants to get back to striking at distance but Morton won't allow it.

Kim escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Morton throws a right hand that Kim ducks under and follows up with a left that Kim also avoids with ease.
Morton misses with a double jab.
Morton throws the kick towards the body but Kim avoids it.
Kim misses with a wild combination.
Micheal Morton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Kim counters with a nice double leg into side control. Morton won't be happy with that.
Kim tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Morton regains half guard, as Kim was trying to land strikes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kim wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Morton uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Morton scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Kim is breathing heavily.
Morton falls off balance throwing a combination
and Kim counters with a nice body shot.
Kim fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ji Hyun Kim. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Morton bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Kim takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Morton looks to land a body kick but Kim moved away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Nice cross by Morton.
Kim moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Morton throws a left that rocks Kim and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Morton dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Kim regain composure!


Kim is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Morton decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kim to his feet.
Oh Kim is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Morton pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
A big right followed by a crushing left from Morton knocks Kim out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Micheal Morton!
