The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Staunton throws a sloppy head kick and Warden moves out of range easily.
Staunton misses with a low kick.

Warden takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Warden decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Warden is looking to take a break and control but Staunton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Staunton has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Warden has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Staunton is breathing heavily.

Warden defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Staunton's arms.

Warden is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Staunton gets his way!

Staunton is looking for a triangle but Warden pushes his legs off easily.

Let's hope that Warden has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Staunton goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Warden is on top in guard.

Staunton had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Warden is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Staunton Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Warden's back instead.
Warden tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Staunton has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Warden should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Staunton has tightened it up now! Warden should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
