Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dai Vernon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quizz Al Fazz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vernon comes into the arena with Ari Gold - Let's Hug It Out, BITCH blaring out of the sound system. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Quizz Al Fazz was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Mauricio Rocha and Seu Braga.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fazz circles away from the clinch attempt.
Vernon tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Vernon takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Vernon tries to bum rush Fazz with a series of wild strikes but Fazz uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Vernon pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Fazz tries to move into range but Vernon moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Fazz staying out of range there.
Fazz throws out a leg kick but Vernon moves out of range and Fazz only half commits.
Vernon throws a nice outside leg kick.
A solid leg kick lands there for Fazz.
Vernon fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Fazz checks it well.

Dai Vernon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vernon tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Fazz was well out of range. Poor timing from Vernon.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
You can see the frustration on Fazz's face as Vernon controls the position.
Vernon sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Fazz is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Vernon wants to control but Fazz is keeping him busy.
Vernon is trying to ground and pound but Fazz uses the momentary lack of control by Vernon to regain half guard.

Vernon working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Fazz's thigh. Fazz counters though and makes it back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vernon is stalling in the full guard.

Vernon looking to sit in guard and control but Fazz gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Vernon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fazz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Vernon wants to sweep but no luck.
Fazz tries to free his leg and advance position but Vernon is retaining full guard.
Fazz is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Fazz wants to pass the guard but Vernon is keeping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Fazz motions for Vernon to come forward. Fazz throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Vernon swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Fazz slips a straight right by Vernon.
Fazz throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Vernon tries to score with a low kick but Fazz moves his leg out of the way.

Fazz throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
A bone on bone clash there as Vernon blocks the leg kick.
Fazz uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Vernon has time to react.
Fazz connects with a good right hand that stumbles Vernon. Vernon circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Fazz tries a head kick but it misses.
Fazz throws a sloppy head kick

and Vernon counters with a shoot takedown. Fazz fights it but they end up in guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Vernon looking to sit in guard and control but Fazz gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Vernon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fazz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fazz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Fazz trying to control the position from guard on top but Vernon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dai Vernon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Fazz looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Let's hope that Fazz has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Quizz Al Fazz.
Vernon is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Fazz.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Fazz throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Vernon sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A nice inside leg kick there by Vernon. That's going to slow Fazz down.
A cross from Vernon lands.
Fazz feints and then cracks Vernon's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Vernon down.
Fazz dodges the punch combination from Vernon.
Fazz walks into a straight right hand from Vernon.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Vernon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fazz swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Vernon clobbers Fazz with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dai Vernon will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

The fight stays on the outside here - Vernon looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Fazz takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Jab, jab by Fazz - just one landing.
Fazz swinging wildly here.
Vernon checks the leg kick.
Vernon shoots in for a double leg but Fazz sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Fazz throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Vernon misses with a double jab
and Fazz counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Vernon is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Vernon moves out of range of the body kick from Fazz.

and Fazz counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Vernon scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Vernon in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Vernon is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Fazz is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The strikes coming from Vernon are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Vernon is looking to take a break and control but Fazz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Vernon is working to tighten is grip on Fazz's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Fazz has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Vernon is really squeezing tight and eventually Fazz passes out! Vernon breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
