Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mario Do Armario (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Andrade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mario Do Armario could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Tony Andrade's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mario Do Armario!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tony Andrade!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Paulo Santos and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Andrade tries to clinch but Do Armario moves away

and Do Armario counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Andrade's guard now.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Do Armario won't allow Andrade to sweep him here.
Andrade is trying to control the position but Do Armario postures up.

Do Armario drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Do Armario jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Do Armario might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Do Armario is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Andrade has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Andrade tries to hold on but Do Armario postures up.

Do Armario goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Andrade turns into him and now he's in Do Armario's guard.
Andrade would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Do Armario is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Andrade throws a half hearted mid kick.
Sloppy strikes from Andrade. Those never looked like landing.

Andrade tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Do Armario paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Do Armario gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Andrade to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Do Armario is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Do Armario controlling Andrade's posture.
Andrade wants to pass the guard but Do Armario is keeping the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Do Armario shoots in but no luck this time.
Do Armario dives in and grabs Andrade's left leg, looking for a takedown. Andrade pushes down on Do Armario's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mario Do Armario. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Andrade wants to clinch up but Do Armario keeps it at a distance.
Andrade throws a half hearted mid kick.
Do Armario takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.


It looks like Mario Do Armario has been cut.

Andrade changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Do Armario looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Mario Do Armario overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Andrade wants to stand but Do Armario is controlling his arm.
Andrade tries to move to mount but Do Armario blocks the move with his legs.

Do Armario bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Andrade is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Do Armario's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Andrade has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Do Armario is working away from the top position though.

Tony Andrade showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Do Armario tries to buck Andrade off but Andrade is having none of it.

Andrade goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Do Armario has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Andrade but great work by Do Armario.

Andrade working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Do Armario doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Do Armario manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Andrade looking to hit a scissor sweep but Do Armario is one step ahead there.

We're going to have a standup here because Mario Do Armario wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Do Armario shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Andrade's guard.

Do Armario drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Andrade manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Do Armario has Andrade in his guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mario Do Armario.

Tony Andrade seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mario Do Armario.
I think Do Armario has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
