PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Laatta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Norris's choice of entrance music: Turmion Kätilöt - Teurastaja. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Norris fails with an attempt to clinch.
Laatta avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Norris keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Norris has closed the distance and engaged Laatta in a clinch.
Norris stops a takedown attempt from Laatta.
Norris changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Laatta fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Norris feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Norris is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Laatta defends it well.

Norris is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Laatta doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Norris.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Norris wants to stand but Laatta has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Laatta shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Norris's guard.
