The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lynch throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mantis was covering up waiting for the punch and Lynch finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Lynch stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mantis swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mantis might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Lynch slips nicely into half guard.
Mantis wants to get back to full guard.
Lynch is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Lynch is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mantis is looking to control Lynch's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mantis avoid being mounted?

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Mantis holds on and takes a little breather.

Mantis working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lynch doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lynch manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Lynch postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mantis is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lynch, into his guard.
Mantis tries to free his leg and advance position but Lynch is retaining full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mantis is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Lynch is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
