Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dallas Riley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Aldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aldo is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Run this town-rihhana. Dallas Riley has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dallas Riley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Aldo!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Thiago Cunha and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riley pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Aldo closes the distance but Riley moves to the side

and Riley holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Aldo throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Riley stalling against the cage.
Riley avoids a wild elbow strike from Aldo.
Aldo working hard to break the clinch.

Riley breaks from the clinch.
Aldo wants to clinch but Riley slips to the side

and Riley counters by clinching up.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Aldo just misses with a elbow thrown towards Riley's brow.
Aldo pushes off an throws an elbow but Riley leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Riley avoids a wild elbow strike from Aldo.

Riley breaks the clinch.

Aldo gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Riley to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Riley seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Riley will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Riley decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Aldo, up you get!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Aldo closes the distance looking to clinch

and Riley decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Aldo's guard.
Riley passes Aldo's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Aldo pushes Riley off but Riley dives into side control.
Aldo looks winded!
Riley advances to mount.
Riley with shots to the head and body - Aldo looks very uncomfortable down there.
Aldo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Riley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Riley is standing up, even though he is in mount.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A looping hook to the body misses from Riley. Aldo does a little dance to reset his feet.
Riley tries to bum rush Aldo with a series of wild strikes but Aldo uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Riley instigates a clinch.

Riley works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Riley is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Riley's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Riley decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Aldo, up you get!
A head kick misses from Aldo.
Aldo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Riley forces Aldo back against the cage and clinches.

Riley breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jose Aldo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Aldo gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Riley to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Riley working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Riley cracks Aldo with a solid left hand.

Riley gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Riley shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Aldo manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Riley gets to his feet. Aldo looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Riley clinches.
Riley will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Aldo up against the cage.

Riley breaks the clinch.
Aldo throws a right and a left that both miss.

Riley has closed the distance and engaged Aldo in a clinch.

Riley breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Riley moves into the clinch.
Aldo tries to break the clinch but Riley is controlling the position.

Riley manages to break the clinch.

Riley takes the fight into the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Riley has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Aldo uses from the top position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Aldo is fighting to break Riley's control of his arms but Riley is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Riley is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Riley decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Riley is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Aldo's half guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Dallas Riley dominated that round.
That's time! Riley's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Aldo wants to clinch but Riley slips to the side

and Riley counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Riley gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Riley shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Riley was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Riley is working Aldo over with some ground and pound from side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Aldo gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Riley is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Aldo can do to turn this around?

Riley stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Riley looking to score a takedown here. Aldo is defending well but Riley drives through and ends up in Aldo's guard.
Riley content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Riley controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Riley gets to his feet. Aldo looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Riley has closed the distance and engaged Aldo in a clinch.
Riley pushes Aldo back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Aldo looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Riley pulls guard effortlessly.

Riley is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Aldo frees his head nicely. Oh but Riley has switched to an armbar! Aldo is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
