The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Magnar.
Alves throws a sloppy head kick and Magnar moves out of range easily.

Alves is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Magnar's half guard.
Alves misses with a head shot. Magnar uses the momentum to regain guard.
Alves trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Magnar manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Alves manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Magnar manages to get himself to full guard.
Alves throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Magnar works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
