Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cody Myres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adams has chosen Heartbreak Kid as his entrance music. Cody Myres has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cody Myres!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jeff Adams!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Myres misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Myres is looking to land body kicks.
No joy there for Myres, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Adams shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Adams with the ground and pound but Myres uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Adams lands a couple of digs.
Adams is looking to work some ground and pound but Myres has wrist control.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Adams accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Adams wants to control from the top but Myres keeps moving.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jeff Adams wasn't active enough on the ground.
Adams swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Adams shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Myres is trying to defend but Adams finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Adams is looking for a kimura but Myres is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Adams to get the leverage.

Adams is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Myres doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Adams.
Adams thows a huge punch but Myres dodges it nicely.

Adams is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Adams content to control rather than advance.

Myres is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Myres is not content to let Adams control the position.
Adams moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Adams has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Adams wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Myres, who protects the arm well.
Adams tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jeff Adams showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Adams throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Myres tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Adams is in Myres's guard.

Myres is looking to stand back up but Adams counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Myres.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jeff Adams has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Adams feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jeff Adams hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Adams catches Myres with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Myres tries a head kick but it misses.
Adams lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Myres circles away quickly and effectively.
Myres misses with a double jab.

Adams decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Adams lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Still in half guard, Adams seems content to control.
Adams uses his free foot to push down on Myres's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Myres.
Adams tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The referee warns Myres that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Cody Myres has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jeff Adams comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Adams has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Jeff Adams tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
