PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Slaven Zlatko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenta Kisotsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kisotsu has chosen Click Click Boom as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Slaven Zlatko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenta Kisotsu!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zlatko just misses with a punch to the body.
Kisotsu chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Zlatko can pounce on him.
Zlatko is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kisotsu.
Kisotsu shoots for a double leg takedown but Zlatko sprawls well. He's pushed Kisotsu's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Zlatko doesn't manage to clinch there - Kisotsu circles away.
Zlatko throws a hook to the side of Kisotsu's head but Kisotsu sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Zlatko shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Kisotsu regains half guard.
Kisotsu wants to improve his position but Zlatko is controlling well.
Zlatko knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kisotsu on the ground.

Zlatko tries to stand but can't do so whilst Kisotsu controls his leg.
Kisotsu is trying to get back to full guard.
Zlatko is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Kisotsu is trying to maintain the position but Zlatko is very close to passing his half guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Zlatko throws a right and a left that both miss.

Zlatko lands a nice looking kick to the body. Kisotsu takes a step back to recover.
Zlatko throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kisotsu.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Zlatko stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Kisotsu to get to his feet.

Zlatko bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Zlatko will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Zlatko moves in looking to clinch but Kisotsu pushes him off.

Kisotsu shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Zlatko counters with a thumping low kick.
Zlatko throws a head kick but Kisotsu moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kisotsu fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Kisotsu is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Kisotsu is breathing heavily.
Zlatko fails with the takedown

and Kisotsu counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Zlatko's guard now.
Zlatko is looking to stand back up but Kisotsu counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Zlatko.

You can see the frustration on Zlatko's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Kisotsu is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Zlatko has escaped the position, nice work there.
Zlatko is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Kisotsu sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Zlatko is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Kisotsu is looking to take a break and control but Zlatko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Zlatko is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Kisotsu creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Zlatko sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Kisotsu cracks Zlatko with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Zlatko wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Kisotsu is looking to take a break and control but Zlatko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Kisotsu tries to buck Zlatko off but Zlatko is having none of it.
Kisotsu sneaks back into half guard.
Kisotsu is trying to control but can't.
Zlatko tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Kisotsu.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kenta Kisotsu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Zlatko lands with a thumping leg kick.

Kisotsu looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Kisotsu is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Kisotsu is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Zlatko reverses the position - he's now on top in Kisotsu's guard.

Kisotsu throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Zlatko escapes and throws Kisotsu's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Kisotsu is trying to control but can't.
Kisotsu regains full guard. Nicely done.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Kisotsu lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Zlatko!

Kisotsu lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Kisotsu postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Zlatko looks a forlorn figure.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kisotsu avoids the attempt from Zlatko to control.

Kisotsu looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Kisotsu seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Zlatko is holding on tight.

Kisotsu wants to finish this one by submission but Zlatko is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Kisotsu.

Kisotsu is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Zlatko can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Kisotsu mounts Zlatko! Really nice guard pass there!

Kisotsu working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Zlatko turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Kisotsu off and cradles Zlatko's limp body as Kisotsu celebrates with his corner.
