Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Zane Ams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Macario (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ams throws a jab when Macario was well out of range.
Ams misses with a body kick.

Macario closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ams quickly recovers to half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Ams wants to get back to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Macario looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Macario decides to stand and escape the position.

Ams thows a body shot but no joy.

Ams tries to land a front kick but Macario steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Macario shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ams's guard.
Ams on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ams tries to get out of the position.

Macario is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Ams throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Macario escapes and throws Ams's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Ams is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Macario gets his way!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Macario tries to sprawl but Ams drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Ams is looking to pass Macario's guard but actually Macario recovers to full guard.
Macario manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Ams is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Ams is squirming around, avoiding Macario's attempts to control the action.
Ams knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Macario on the ground.

Ams's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Macario throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Ams because Macario loaded up on that one.

Macario jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Ams manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Macario tries to score with some ground and pound. Ams controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Macario fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Macario tries for a kimura but Ams is defending well.
Macario misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Macario creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Ams sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Macario wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ams keeps working.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Macario might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ams haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Ams is pushing Macario's head away, looking to escape. Macario manages to hold on to the position though.
