The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A solid leg kick lands there for Masterson.
Ripley throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Masterson clinches up with Ripley and pushes him back against the cage.

Masterson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ripley manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Masterson tries to land a front kick but Ripley steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Ripley looks up at the clock. Bad move! Masterson lands a right hand from hell, dropping Ripley. Masterson pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ja Masterson spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
