Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Reynelds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Attilius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcus Attilius is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jim Reynelds!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marcus Attilius!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Hugh Johnson and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling eachother endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
Reynelds slips a jab from Attilius.
Reynelds lands a glancing blow to the side of Attilius's head.
Attilius lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Reynelds swings widly with a right hand
and Attilius counters with a straight right hand.

Reynelds misses with a left hand
and Attilius counters with a three punch combo that has Reynelds backing up. Reynelds nods at Attilius to acknowledge the strikes.
Attilius misses with a looping left.
Reynelds swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Attilius lands a right hook to the body.

Reynelds throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Attilius sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Reynelds throws a poor cross that misses
and Attilius counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

enabling Attilius to counter with a crisp jab.

A nice combination there by Attilius.
Attilius scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Attilius throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Attilius works the jab nicely.
Attilius scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Reynelds doesn't seem bothered though.

and Attilius counters with a left to the body.

Attilius moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

and Attilius counters with a series of strikes. Reynelds will be more careful next time no doubt.
Reynelds moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Attilius lands with a right hand.

Attilius scores with the left hand. Reynelds knows he should have avoided that one.
Reynelds needs to keep his hands up - Attilius had a free shot at his head there.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Reynelds throws a right hand that misses
and Attilius counters with a nice uppercut.
Attilius misses with an uppercut. Reynelds saw that one coming.

Attilius clobbers Reynelds with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

letting Attilius counter with a right hand.
Reynelds moves out of range of the strikes.
Attilius bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Reynelds's head backwards.

Attilius will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Attilius lands a head shot.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Attilius lands a jab to Reynelds's midsection.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marcus Attilius showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Reynelds rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Attilius counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Marcus Attilius is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Attilius fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Reynelds throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Attilius counters with a one-two to the body.
Reynelds takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Attilius works the jab nicely.
Attilius misses with a looping right.
Reynelds throws a lazy uppercut
and Attilius counters with a stiff right hand.
Attilius throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Reynelds stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Reynelds throws an off balance right hand
enabling Attilius to counter with a crisp jab.
Reynelds looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Reynelds throws a right hand that misses
letting Attilius counter with a right hand.
Attilius wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Attilius displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

Attilius fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Reynelds misses with a lunging right hand
and Attilius counters with a three punch combo that has Reynelds backing up. Reynelds nods at Attilius to acknowledge the strikes.
Attilius has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

and Attilius counters with a series of strikes. Reynelds will be more careful next time no doubt.
Reynelds is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Attilius looks to throw the jab but Reynelds is out of range.

Reynelds takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Marcus Attilius seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Reynelds throws a left and a right that both miss
and Reynelds takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Marcus Attilius comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Attilius has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
