PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy The Kid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Parker Van Eyck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Van Eyck comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Surfin' USA kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Eyck throws a head kick that misses.
The Kid closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Van Eyck throws a right and a left that The Kid avoids nicely.
Van Eyck feints and then cracks The Kid's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow The Kid down.
Horrible takedown by The Kid or perhaps it was just good defense by Van Eyck which made him look bad.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Van Eyck scores with a jab to the head.
Van Eyck tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. The Kid manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

The Kid drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Van Eyck wants to get back to his feet but The Kid is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

The Kid thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The Kid advances to half guard.
Van Eyck wants to get back to his feet.

The Kid seems to be working for a kimura but Van Eyck defends the submission attempt.

The Kid is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Van Eyck is just riding it out for now. The Kid eventually gives up the hold.

The Kid has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Van Eyck defend it? The Kid steps over the head and cranks it - Van Eyck is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for The Kid!
