Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mike Corey Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thurgood Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jenkins has chosen Mary Jane as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Thurgood Jenkins has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corey Jr thows a leg kick but Jenkins checks it
and Jenkins counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
A looping hook to the body misses from Corey Jr. Jenkins does a little dance to reset his feet.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Corey Jr lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Jenkins has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Jenkins and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jenkins enables Corey Jr to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jenkins manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Corey Jr postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jenkins is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Corey Jr, into his guard.

Corey Jr escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jenkins gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Corey Jr tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Corey Jr working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jenkins doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jenkins manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Corey Jr is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jenkins in particular looking to stall.

Oh Corey Jr is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Corey Jr walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Jenkins checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Corey Jr seems to have got his legs back now.
Jenkins throws a hook to the side of Corey Jr's head but Corey Jr sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Jenkins throws out a loose jab but Corey Jr uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mike Corey Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A slow jab from Jenkins misses its intended target.
Jenkins checks the leg kick.
Thurgood Jenkins is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Corey Jr throws a front kick aimed at Jenkins's knee but Jenkins avoids it well.
Jenkins loads up on a big right hand but Corey Jr slips the punch.
Corey Jr has a takedown stuffed.
Jenkins throws an overhand right that lands on Corey Jr's shoulder, as Corey Jr tries to avoid the shot.
Jenkins swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Corey Jr does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Corey Jr buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Corey Jr throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jenkins's waist but Jenkins gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Corey Jr off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Corey Jr. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jenkins stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jenkins wants it to stay on the feet.

Jenkins might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Jenkins lands a brutal uppercut that launches Corey Jr off his feet! Corey Jr tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
